The largest public
association in the country, the All Russian Society of the Disabled, celebrated
its 30th anniversary on the 17th of August 2018. Thanks to the
efforts of this organisation, thousands of people were able to believe in
themselves and find a way to living a full and better life. The exhibition “The
art of creation” is dedicated to the anniversary of this important organisation
and will run from the 1st until the 23rd of December. The exhibition project
features paintings, graphics and sculpture of winners and nominees of the
international award “Philanthropist” in 2000-2018.
Social rehabilitation
of people through art has been one of main activities of the All Russian
Society of the Disabled since its foundation. In 2008 the first awarding
ceremony of the international award “Philanthropist” took place. And
each following award, held every two years, became a true celebration of
creativity, a triumph of public recognition.
The exhibition at the Darwin museum presents art works created by winners
and nominees of the international award “Philanthropist” (2000-2018). These works were
created by people of different ages, both amateurs and experienced artists.
All art works have amazing creative energy. Their
authors are very talented and exceptionally strong-willed people. Irina
Vitoshinskaya (Moscow) is a wheelchair user; she is a
professional artist, a member of the Moscow Union of Artists and International
Arts Fund. Irina has taught children drawing and painting for many years. Ivan
Kharchenko (Nizhny Novgorod Oblast) is a deaf artist and an
active member of exhibitions held by the Association of deaf Artists of Russia,
his art works are kept in the private collections in the USA, Germany and
China. Boris Fedoezzhin (Moscow oblast) creates delightful wooden laces. The
art works created by a blind artist Aleksey Filatov (Yekaterinburg) can be explored
by touch. A landscape painter Yuriy Prokhorov (Moscow) is the winner of the international
award “Philanthropist” (2018), his art works reflect the beautiful
nature of Russian north and European part of Russia. The works were provided by
the Museum of Creativity and Overcoming “Ravnovesie” at the city centre of
social integration “Philanthropist”.
