MOUSTACHES AND BEARDS

exhibition of photo-competition winners’ works

11 June 2019 — 11 August 2019

Расположение: eng-name / eng-name

Moustaches and beards fashion is constantly changing, yet it continues to draw public attention. People even confuse moustaches with animal whiskers, fish barbels and insect antennas, although they have nothing in common. Scientists even managed to find moustaches and beards among birds – that’s how we ended up with the bearded reedling (Panurus biarmicus) and bearded owl or great gray owl (Strix nebulosa).

Pictures taken by competition participants reveal the great variety of animals and birds with moustaches and/or beards.

About 1 000 of photos from different Russian cities and from abroad were submitted to take part in the competition. A professional jury has selected the best works and the winner, which you will be able to see at Darwin museum starting from June 15, 2019.
