A stuffed
ribboned rope squirrel (Funisciurus lemniscatus Le Conte, 1857) shows us an
animal which belongs to a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae.
Representatives of this species are found in Cameroon, the Republic of the
Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Equatorial Guinea. Their
natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
This animal
is certainly rare for the collections of Russian museums. It was brought from
an expedition to Cameroon by museum taxidermist Oksana Mbita Ebele.
