Bonobo is a rare species of apes, living only in the territory of the
Democratic Republic of the Congo. The exact number of wild populations is
unknown, and according to various estimates, reaches from 5 to 20 thousand
individuals. Bonobos are unusually intelligent and friendly animals, they are
often subjected to pressure from human, and many of them are rescued by the
staff of the sanctuary "Lola ya Bonobo".
Scientists believe that the amazing behavior of these primates can tell
us a lot about the nature of man; the film at the exhibition, which
demonstrates the life of bonobos, is provided by this sanctuary.
Photos for the exhibition are provided by Ph.D. of evolutionary
anthropology from Duke University, USA, Jingzhi Tan.
The main goal of the exhibition is meeting with the beauty and
originality of rare apes and thinking about the destiny of the animal world as
a whole.
